Vanessa is a multidisciplinary designer and leader of creative strategy for mission-driven organizations, higher education, and creative agencies. She has a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and a GDC from Massachusetts College of Art + Design, and has lectured on digital design at Parsons School of Design and Lesley University. She has held creative leadership positions in academic and cultural institutions such as Harvard University Press, The Bard Graduate Center, Facing History and Ourselves, and Berklee College of Music.
As a musician, she has released her own albums, as well as toured with Scary Mansion, a band featuring her twin sister.
